botanically dyed these pieces with a traditional organic Indigo fructose vat. It has a rich history and this particular style of indigo dye vat was used for centuries was used by many cultures in Africa, Asia and South America. It is believed to be the oldest natural dye ever used in history! The indigo I used was grown right here in the US by small farmers.

Osage Orange is a small deciduous tree or large shrub, native to the south-central United States. It's bark produces very vibrant golden yellow tones because of morin, a flavonoid compound. It's dye was actually used to dye the khaki colored uniforms of the first world war.

The details and care: The 100% silk known as flat crepe, a light weight silk with a beautiful subtle sheen, measuring 22" x 22".  It was pretreated carefully to make sure it is colorfast in cold water, you can hand wash with a pH neutral soap or use your machine separately on the most gentle cycle if necessary. It can also be steamed or ironed on the lowest setting, or a silk setting if your iron has that option.

There are subtle light blues and greens with loud pops of yellow!

Actual color may vary from the images and video shown. I tried my best to capture but every monitor or mobile display has a different capability to display colors!
