Meet Our September Artist: Kay Rey Art

Meet Our September Artist: Kay Rey Art

This month our orders were made more beautiful by Kayla Reynolds, the artist behind Kay Rey Art! During this process of collaborating together, I have had the pleasure of getting to know Kayla better and have become fast friends. I obviously love her art + style and am honored to have her work on our order packaging and our free Pocket Journals this month. See below to get to know the artist behind the awesome artwork ...

How long have you been creating and sharing your work?

I have been creating for as long as I can remember, started sharing my work about 3 years ago

What is your biggest source of inspiration for your art?

Music is my fuel, I find I receive most of my visions for my pieces while listening to music

What other styles or mediums of art do you like to create?

I enjoy painting and creating my illustrations through Procreate

What dreams do you have for your artwork?

My dream is to have a cozy art studio / gallery. I also look forward to making new connections with amazing people and touching people’s hearts with my art.

What advice do you have for someone wanting to pursue being a creative / artist?

Go after it and just start. Keep your creative juices flowing and gain inspiration however you choose to as often as you can. From there, it will all flow with you.

Where did you grow up and where do you currently live?

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and currently live in Tigard, Oregon

If you could go anywhere in the world right now where would you go?

Sitting near the water in Santorini, Greece at sunset.. with a warm cup of mint tea in my hands.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

It’s a new day I haven’t lived yet and I get to choose how I go about it, that’s a cool feeling.

What your favorite act of self-care?

There’s nothing quite like a candle-lit bubble bath playing Lana Del Rey.
